June 2 Legislative committees may resume

June 3 Statewide non-presidential Primary Election

June 15 Budget Bill must be passed by midnight

June 26 Last day for legislative and non-legislative measures to qualify for the November General Election ballot

June 27 Last day for Policy Committees to meet and report bills

July 2008

July 1 Secretary of State’s non-presidential primary official canvass ends

July 3 Legislative summer recess begins, provided Budget Bill is passed

August 2008

August 4 Legislature reconvenes from Summer Recess

August 15 Last day for Fiscal Committees to meet and report bills to the floor

August 18-31 Floor session only; No committees, other than conference and Rules Committee, maymeet for any purpose without a rule waiver

August 22 Last day to amend bills on the floor without waiver

August 28 Certified list of candidates released by the Secretary of State for the November General Election

August 31 Last day for any bill to pass; Final recess begins upon adjournment

September 25 State ballot pamphlet for November General Election mailing begins (Mailing completed by October 25, 2008)
