CFA Gears Up for National Day of Action for Higher Education – April 17, 2025
Faculty, students, and allies across the California State University system are acting on Thursday, April 17 for the annual National Day of Action for Higher Education. CFA members from Northern to Southern California are organizing powerful events to demand a just CSU budget, fair contracts, and better working conditions for faculty.
This coordinated day of action highlights our collective power to push for “real investment in public higher education,” resist harmful federal interference, and defend the anti-racism, justice-centered values at the heart of our work.
Across CSU campuses, members are organizing a wide range of actions to demand a just budget and advocate for faculty and students. The day will feature phone banking, teach-ins, Lunch & Learn sessions, campus-wide rallies and marches and people’s budget forums to engage and inform the campus community. Students and faculty will also lead teach-outs, host advocacy stations, and distribute flyers on campuses to spread consciousness about critical issues our campuses and faculty face.
This is our moment to show CSU leadership and state legislators that we are united in our call for equity, investment, and respect for faculty and students. Let’s make April 17 a day of bold, visible action in defense of the CSU we all deserve.
