INFOGRAPHIC: APIDA Representation in the CSU
The way the CSU categorizes all Asian faculty under one “Asian” umbrella term is highly limiting. The CSU creates only one subcategory for Asian American faculty — a Pacific Islander demographic category. However, we suspect the collection of Pacific Islander data to be incomplete at best.
Asian and Pacific Islander activists have been calling for the disaggregation of Asian demographic data into smaller, more representative sub-categories for decades.
