CFA Call for Nominations
Nominations for CFA President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer are now closed. The Nominees are as follows:
- President – Charles Toombs, San Diego
- Vice-President – Margarita Berta-Ávila, Sacramento
- Secretary – Diane Blair, Fresno
- Treasurer –
- Vang Vang, Fresno
- Abdur Sikder, San Francisco
The unopposed candidates will be declared elected during the 96th CFA Assembly.
Call for Nominations for the following Board of Director positions are now open:
AVPs:
- Council for Racial & Social Justice- North and South
- Council of Lecturers- North and South
- Council of Presidents – North and South
Committee Chairs: Coaches, Contract Development/Bargaining Strategy; Counselors; Librarians; Membership/Organizing; Political Action/Legislation; Representation.
*The Associate Vice Presidents, North and South, plus four (4) representatives for each Council, shall be elected by each Council during the Assembly at which the election of Officers is held. To be eligible, the candidates must be incumbent Representative or Representative-elect at the time of the election.
Call for Nominations for the following other positions are also open:
- AAUP California Representative – South
- Audit Committee Member (1 position)
DECLARATION FOR OTHER POSITIONS
Candidates for the Board and all other positions may declare now, or they may wait until nominations are taken from the floor or the appropriate council.
CFA Members need not be members of the CFA Assembly to run for office or to nominate an individual. Individuals nominated by a second party must submit a written acceptance to the Elections Committee.
A copy of the declaration will be forwarded to Assembly Delegates, the CFA Board of Directors, the Chapter Presidents Council, the Council of Lecturers, and the Council for Racial and Social Justice.
*Two campus rule– there can be no more than two individuals from the same campus on the Board of Directors, except that the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer do not count against the two-campus rule. The Retired Faculty Committee Chair, Immediate Past-President, and CHESU Representative also do not count against the two-campus rule.
