Educational Forum on Palestinian Liberation
CFA East Bay members will be hosting a webinar on May 3 from 9am – 10:30am to both educate and facilitate discussion on why Palestinian liberation is deeply relevant to the work that we do as an anti-racism and social justice higher education union.
Rachael Stryker, CFA member and CSU East Bay professor, encourages all members to attend. “Internationalism has proven to be a successful guiding principle for labor movements. The webinar invites CFA members and allies to first learn from experienced unionists about some successful past examples of this principle at work, and then think on how CFA and other higher ed unions in the United States might engage with it.
“On one hand, the event is a vital opportunity to think about our own responses as labor activists to calls for co-liberation with Palestinians in this historic moment. On the other, it is a conversation about some larger, equally important questions: What do unions look like when we adopt the central value that an injury to one is an injury to all? What challenges might each of us face? And what might we all gain?” said Stryker.
This event is open to all faculty. If you are interested in attending, please sign up here.
